03. Sapporo Ramen Yokocho (Street)

Since a Chinese restaurant was opened in front of the Hokkaido University back in 1921, there were more and more ramen shops opened on the same street. Now there are 16 ramen shops opened here! It is a great place to visit if you want to try the original miso ramen!

04. Sapporo Beer Garden


It was actually a candy factory when it was first opened in 1890. In 1966, it became a beer garden! Beer lovers cannot miss this place!

05. Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill

"Boys be ambitious!"

Dr. William Smith Clark, the father of pioneers in Hokkaido and man who left the famous words "boys be ambitious", is the model of the sculpture created by sculptor Tando Saka. 



The Sapporo Tourism Association decided that a statue of Dr. Clark, who is symbolic of the development of Hokkaido, should be seen by people all over the country, and continue to spread his pioneering spirit. For this reason, to commemorate the centennial anniversary of his visit to Hokkaido and the bicentennial anniversary of the United States of America the monument was built on Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill. (From Official Homepage)

06. Otaru Canal

08. Lake Shikaribetsu
