Experience your summer in Japanese style!
As you may have known, there are many fireworks festivals in Japan in summer time. You can see family and friends putting on their Japanese Yukata （浴衣）and gather together outside to enjoy drinks and food while watching the spectacular fireworks show in the sky!
It's time to mark your schedule for the summer fireworks festivals in 2016!!
Before that, how about we go to get you a new Yukata first! Oh wait, do you know what's the difference between the well-known Kimono and Yukata?
Kimono? Yukata?
Kimono is a traditional style of clothing that Japanese only wear on special occasion. It is just like a formal dress or suit that you wear for formal dinner or events. Also, Kimono is expensive and not easy to put on, a Kimono may consist of 12 or more different parts!! Men's Kimono is a bit simpler but still, it is a formal dressing in Japan.
Yukata is a more casual and simpler version of Kimono. It is also cheaper and it has much fewer parts than Kimono. That's why it is a popular wear in the summer. You can see both women and men wear Yukata and carry a small bag and a paper fan at the Fireworks Festivals!!
Not just for women and men, even kids get their their Yukata for the summer too!! Why don't you buy a whole set for your family!!
As we mentioned earlier, getting a set of Yukata is not too expensive. Depends on the maker and the materials they use, sometimes you can find Yukata at really reasonable prices just like at the causal wear stores Uniqlo. The Yukata on us are provided by Ginza Mistukoshi Department Store.
