So how about in Japan?
In most parts of the world, November 11th is the memorial day for people who died in wars. You can see people wearing poppies to show their respect to those who sacrificed in the wars.

In some other parts of the world, there are different celebrations for this 1111 day!
China
In China, people call it "Singles Day". At the beginning, it's just a day dedicated to those who cannot find love. However, some years ago, it became the biggest shopping day in China. For the last couple years, the online shopping transaction on 1111 in China keeps breaking the world record!

Korea
Korean call it "Pepero Day"! Pepero is a cookie stick dipped in chocolate sauce. Why cookie stick? Just think about the shape and 1111!! People buy and give pepero to their friends and family on this day!

Japan
Just similar to Korea, people named the day of the famous Japanese cookie-sticks Pocky! Yes it is the "Pocky Day" in Japan!!

Above is one of the collaboration of two famous products in Japan. Chocolate cookie-stick with a glass of beer? What kinds of new idea is that?
Pocky Japan is doing promotion around Japan now, today and tomorrow (11th and 12th November 2016), they will visit JR Kyushu Nagasaki Station! If you are in Nagasaki this weekend, why don't you go there and celebrate "Pocky Day" too!
