A special journey that you have never seen!

Do you know that there is a "Cat Boom" going on in Japan recently? From fashions, toys, stationery shops to bookstores, you can find products with cat images everywhere.

Today, we want to show you a few interesting cat spots in Japan! No matter you are a cat lover or not, this is gonna be a very special and interesting journey for you! Let's go! Meow ~~~

01. A Cat Shrine in Tokyo


You are right! There is a shrine dedicated to cats in Asakusa Tokyo!!

Imado Shrine

The famous Japanese "maneki-neko" is originated at Imado Shrine. People come here to pray for fortunes and love.


Two big and cute maneki-neko are sitting inside the shrine and waiting for their visitors!


Since Imado Shrine is famous for love and marriage, many people will come here and buy this cute "Omamori"(charms, talismans)!

02. Cat Islands In Japan

There are two famous cat islands which are not only well known in Japan, oversea medias also went to these islands and made cover of these special places!

A. Tashirojima in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture

On this small island, only around 100 people are living there. However, there are way more cats living there than humans! The reason for the large cat population is that locals believe that feeding cats can bring good fortune and wealth. There is also a Cat Shrine on this tiny island!

From Ishinomaki Port, take Ajishima Line and get off at Nitoda Port of Tashirojima.

B. Aoshima in Ozu, Ehime Prefecture

On Aoshima, there are only 15 people left living on the island, but there are more than 100 cats living on it!! Because this island was widely reported in the world, it became a famous spot for cat lovers around the world to visit!

03. Cats Photography Exhibition

From 14th to 20th September 2016, at Daimaru Department Store Tokyo, "Neko Yasumi Bijutsukan" (Cats in Holidays Gallery) will be held. In this exhibition, vacation themed cats photographs taken by artists and photographers will be shown.
