Ibaraki Prefecture - Three Famous Sightseeing Spots

Do you want to spend a day or two in area that is away from Tokyo sometimes? Actually there are many other great sightseeing places in other prefectures near Tokyo! Today, we will take you to Ibaraki Prefecture and show you three famous sightseeing spots that you may interested visiting!

01. Hitachi Seaside Park

If you love flowers and photography, you will love this park in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki! In the park, there are many different kinds of flowers that you can see from spring to autumn!

Suisen Fantasy

In late March to mid of April, you can see beautiful narcissuses all over the park. Over 600 species of narcissuses are grown every year!


Tulip World

220 kinds and over 280,000 of colorful tulips can be seen from mid to late April!



Nemophila Harmony

From late April to mid of May, 4.5 million of nemophilas covered the Miharashi Hills in beautiful light blue! It is an awesome time to come and take some good pictures!

Bassia scoparia Carnival

Starting from late September to mid October, bassia scoparia are grown all over the Miharashi Hills. From green color to crimson red color, it is a really popular spot to visit in autumn!

09:30 - 17:00 (September 1 to October 31, 2016)
09:30 - 16:30 (November 1, 2016 to February 28, 2017)
Closed on every Monday (If public holiday falls on Monday, park will be closed on the following Tuesday), December 31 and January 1, first Tuesday to Friday of February
*Park is open EVERY DAY from October 1 to 31.

Admission Fees:
410 yen for adults (15 years old and over)
210 yen for seniors (65 years old and over)
80 yen for children (7 to 14 years old)
Free for children under 6 years old


02. Mount Tsukuba


By the Tsukuba Express, in just 45 minutes, you can reach Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture from Akihabara Tokyo!


After arriving at the Tsukuba station, take a 45 minutes bus ride to reach Mount Tsukuba!


Hop on the cable car and enjoy the beautiful scenery from Mount Tsukuba!


Land on the top of Mount Tsukuba to overview the land of Kanto!


On top of mountain, you can find the Mount Tsukuba Shrine and an class style street too!

03. Fukuroda Falls

Fukuroda Falls is located in Daigo-machi in Ibaraki Prefecture. The height of the fall is about 120 meters tall and the width is 73 meters wide. Unlike other falls that you have seen, Fukuroda Falls is famous for the slowness and calmness!

In winter, you can even try to climb and walk on the falls since it is all frozen!
